In August 2012 Aurora hosted a visit by the Groupe Folklorique du Pays de Hanau from Bouxwiller in Alsace. We loved their colourful costumes and lively performances when we made our trip to Alsace in 2011 and we were delighted when they accepted our invitation to perform in Aberdeen. Friday 10th August
We hosted a Festival Ceilidh at the Forum in Aberdeen with music by the Aurora Ceilidh Band. The ceilidh featured guest performances by our friends from Alsace, the Groupe Folklorique du Pays de Hanau. If you weren’t there, you missed a very special evening!
Saturday 11th August
Shoppers at Union Square shopping centre in Aberdeen enjoyed performances by which also featured displays of Scottish dancing by members of Aurora, accompanied by the Aurora ceilidh band.
Sunday 12th August
Groupe Folklorique du Pays de Hanau headed to Crathes Castle where their performance attracted an appreciative audience.
