Aurora Scottish Dance & Music is 30 years old in 2026. To celebrate this milestone, we are holding a celebratory weekend from 11-14 September 2026. We are delighted that we will be joined over the weekend by some dancing friends from France, Italy and Sweden who we have met on the various trips and festivals we have enjoyed over the years.
During this weekend, we will be holding a 30th Birthday International Ceilidh on Saturday 12 September from 8pm-midnight in Elphinstone Hall, Old Aberdeen. Music will be provided by the Aurora Band.
In addition to the usual ceilidh dances, which will all be called, there will be the
opportunity to try some dances from across Europe taught by our visiting friends. Tickets are £20 (£15 for students) and includes tea, coffee & stovies (or a vegetarian alternative).
There is a licenced bar, which will be open from 7.30pm, which is card only.

Hogbo Folkdansgille from Sandviken, Sweden – the group visited us in 1997, and we returned the visit in 1998.
Grouppe Folklorique du Pays de Hanau from Alsace, France – we visited the group in 2011, and they returned the visit in 2012.
Le Poutou de Toulouse from Toulouse, France – the group visited us in 2014, and we returned the visit in 2015
Gruppo Folkloristico Pasian di Prato from Udine, Italy – we visited the group in 2016 and they returned the visit in 2018.
